For best results, use a canned tomato sauce that is relatively plain and good quality canned tomato sauce such as the Classico Traditional tomato sauce. Prep Time 5 minutes Cook Time 5 minutes Servings cups Ingredients 2.5 cups Tomato sauce canned1 cup Water2 tsp SugarOregano driedBasil fresh and/or dried Prep Time 5 minutes Cook Time 5 minutes Servings cups Ingredients 2.5 cups Tomato sauce canned1 cup Water2 tsp SugarOregano driedBasil fresh and/or dried Instructions To save time boil the water using an Electric Kettle. Heat tomato sauce in a pot over medium heat. Add boiled water (or this homemade chicken broth), sugar, oregano, basil leaves. Let simmer until boil. Taste for seasoning, add in a pinch of salt, pepper and/or beef/chicken/vegetable mix if desired. Use this as a base tomato sauce for any recipe, Serve over pasta and enjoy! Recipe Notes If you want to increase the flavour add sausage, ground chicken or meat, and other spices. Whenever I need hot or boiling water for anything, I use my Electric Kettle. Electric kettles are constructed to boil water Faster than a pot on the stove. Tea and coffee are a given, but think beyond that: Cooking vegetables? Making soup? Cooking corn? Poaching chicken? Boil your water in your electric kettle and then pour it into the pot you need. Most electric kettles automatically shut off when the water has reached a full boil. Which means you can fill it with water, turn it on, and leave the room to do something else. No worry, no mess and time-saver.
